Improving Lives by Increasing Access to Mental & Behavioral Healthcare in Alabama

The Renewal Project is a 501(c)(3) (applied for) charitable organization, founded in Birmingham, AL by those with lived experience and a heart for prioritizing mental and behavioral health. Our goal is to ease the financial burden of care for Alabama families statewide with mental health and substance use disorders, to create a brighter, healthier future together.  In doing so, we hope to elevate Alabama from the bottom of the national mental health statistics.

In Alabama, the number one barrier to mental and behavioral health treatment is cost. The Renewal Project provides those who seek help with financial assistance so those ready and willing to get well can receive needed treatment and care.

The Renewal Project is funded by private donors, corporations, and foundations who believe access to quality mental healthcare is a right, not a privilege.

Please join our mission today by emailing donate@supportTRP.org to learn how to improve the life of someone who needs your help.

The Renewal Project was inspired by Alabama families who received exceptional mental and behavioral healthcare at Longleaf Recovery & Wellness and wanted others to experience the same positive impact through financial donations.  Longleaf saw the opportunity to do something even bigger and decided that The Renewal Project should be a standalone entity working with any mental or behavioral health provider or professional who believes in quality, personalized care.  While The Renewal Project is not affiliated with a specific organization, we will never forget where our mission was born.

With a commitment to transparency and accountability, we work diligently to create a lasting difference for Alabama residents by providing access to quality healthcare with treatment providers who believe in evidence-based treatment and outcomes. This includes treatment for Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Trauma, Psychiatric Disorders, Mood Disorders, Eating Disorders, and Substance Use Disorders, and reaches across the continuum of care: Residential/Inpatient Treatment, Partial Hospitalization (PHP) or Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP), Recovery Residences or Group Homes, Counseling and Talk Therapy.

Our Mission

The Renewal Project (TRP) is proud to partner with the Addiction Prevention Coalition (APC) (EIN 26-0319028) through a fiscal sponsorship. APC, a well-established 501(c)(3) with a Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid, shares TRP’s mission to raise awareness and reduce barriers to mental and behavioral healthcare in Alabama. Through this partnership, APC accepts tax-deductible donations and grants on TRP’s behalf, allowing TRP to begin fundraising and delivering assistance while its tax-exempt status is pending.
