Propose a client for funding.

If you have a client who is an Alabama resident, 18 or older, with verifiable financial hardship, you can propose them for financial assistance for a portion of the cost of their mental or behavioral health care. While TRP serves individuals, we work directly with their providers. Choose the level of care below and begin the process.

The proposal form must be filled out by the person or organization providing the care. Assistance Cycles run quarterly, and dates are posted below.

Level I. Outpatient Counseling & Therapy, Psychiatry
$0.00

Individual, family, or group therapy with a licensed clinician. The most common entry point — and what we believe can keep individuals from crisis or sustain mental health post-crisis. Includes talk therapy, clinical or faith-based, and psychiatric services.

Level IIA. Partial Hospitalization (PHP) & Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
$0.00

PHP is a structured step between inpatient hospitalization and traditional outpatient therapy, offering a high level of support for individuals who need more care than weekly therapy sessions but do not require 24-hour supervision.

IOP allows individuals to continue daily responsibilities (such as work or school) while receiving intensive therapy and support multiple times per week.

Level IIB. Recovery Residence & Group Home
$0.00

A Recovery Residence or Sober Living is a structured, substance-free living environment designed for individuals recovering from mental health disorders, substance use disorders, or co-occurring conditions. These residences provide a safe, stable, and supportive community where individuals can focus on maintaining sobriety and improving their mental well-being.

Level III. Residential / Inpatient Clinical
$0.00

Inpatient or residential mental or behavioral health services refer to treatment programs where individuals stay at a facility for a specified period to receive intensive care for mental health or substance use disorders. These services are designed for individuals who require 24-hour supervision, structured treatment, and medical or therapeutic support.

Level IV. Detoxification & Inpatient Psychiatric
$0.00

Medically supervised detoxification and acute inpatient psychiatric hospitalization for the highest acuity needs. These stays may last 3-5 days or more until patient is stabilized.

“I wanted to send a quick, personal note to say thank you for the financial help from The Renewal Project.

When you are working as hard as you can to stay healthy and keep your life on track, the sheer stress of medical bills can make you feel like you're drowning. Your generosity completely lifted that weight off my shoulders. Because of your support, I didn't have to face the impossible choice between taking care of my health and providing for my kids.

I am in a really good, stable place today, and a huge part of that is because people like you chose to care and step in when it mattered most. Thank you for giving my family the room to breathe.

Sincerely,

Client, Cycle 2, Birmingham, AL”
